| My name is Karina and I work as a freelance photographer in DK. My passion is without a doubt portraiture photography and that is probably never gonna change. I love portraying people in a creative way!....also I'm not afraid to use colors in my work, as you can see... So when I'm not out shooting, I spent many hours every day editing photos. There is always room for improvement of cause, but it is important to me, that my work has a quality to them as far as editing goes. I don't like, when photos looks like the just been uploaded from the camera "snaps" - but I also really hate when people don't know when to stop editing and the images most of all look like a really bad photoshop-job. So I'm a little fuzzy regarding what I look for in pictures and what I like...haha For me it's about listening to my clients, but then again also being able to work around it, so that I'm also going to be happy with the outcome. I don't want to put my name on something I don't feel good about and I won't compromise my work! I am always interested in finding new models. You can read my requirements on my modelmayhem profile: [link] NB: Since I am expecting my first child, I won't be able to take on any new models until spring 2010, after my baby is born... |

Well, for me, the most important thing in my work has been patience & practice every day for many years. I guess, it all depends on, what finished look you are going for in your images..
Getting to really know (and control) every single setting is for me a must, I don't rely on the camera to do the work for me, it is just a tool, especially since I am mostly shooting on manual mode and without flash. So I would have to say, learning about apenture, Shutterspeed and so on, has made a huge different in my work.
And of cause also leaning as much as you can, about post processing is important if you want to make your photographs stand out a bit more and get a professional look. But overall, it all comes down to what look you are going for...
Take care.... - Karina
